Gerasymchuk V.A. Existentialistic novel: the «stream of consciousness» on the crisis of consiousness (J.-P. Sartre, «Nausea»)

The article aims to examine the peculiarities of the novel text which is a unique correlation of philosophical and artistic thought expressed with the narrative form of the «stream of consciousnes»; to emphasize the peculiarities of the author’s philosophizing, the process of thoughts being born and flowing, to reveal the nature of «methaphysical experiences» and imagination that creates irreal hyperbolized images. The «philosophy of existence», the existentials of which Sartre’s hero tries to understand, helps him to comprehend, as it seemed to him, the «philosophy of life». After painfully experiencing «hideous existence» and its understnding the hero finally finds ab existing way – the freedom. It gives him an opportunity to choose his «self» and actualize his life and future.
