The “text in text” phenomenon that is a dance in a literary text is described in the article. Cultural analysis can reveal the syncretic essence of dance. Aesthetics of gestures, natural rhythm, spiritual elevation appear as a spatial writing. Secret archaic meanings are reflected. Those are the first act of communication, dialogues, hope for the fulfillment of dreams, dual essence of human nature (matriarchal and patriarchal). Dance might rediscover physicality, beauty and inner world of a person. The semantic nuances of a dance in the early works of Gogol contradistinguishes from sculptural immovable image as an example of the semantic nuances of a later period.
