The blood in the mythological system has not only the status of physiology liquid, but this is live substance that corresponds to some creature. The treatment to the blood was very serious in traditional cultures. The bloodshed was prohibited because of doctrine of global destructive effect of such actions, which can be neutralized only by reverse bloodshed. Thus the traditional practice of blood revenge that is common for many ethnic groups was not only the responsive action of hurted part, but spiritual and physical necessity to renew the cosmic balance. If someone refused to act in this way, the killed creature behaved as if it continue to live, but in anomalous way, being “binded” to the place they die in the status of “zalozhny” dead, i.e. a kind of a ghost.
Keywords: blood, vendetta, traditional culture, «zalozhni» dead.
