We consider some elements of traditional Ukrainian wedding taking place in the modern marriage ritual. The author attempts to analyze the transformation which acquired certain beliefs and customs in modern urban wedding. The lead is the idea that, despite the significant changes that have occurred in traditional rituals, its mythological essence has remained intact and is understandable for members of the wedding wedding ceremonies, as in the old days, aimed at combining / reconciliation of the two families, placing the future happy young life, ensure fertility and prosperity.
