Article foregrounds the problem of a wholesome personality caused by the influence of widespread of the various psychoanalytic studies in 20th century. “Destruction” of the individual, objective and subjective factors of that process became the subject of interest of H. Hesse (‘Steppenwolf’) and J. Fowles (‘The Magus’, ‘The Collector’). Both authors problematize the idea of magical theatre by the use of a verbal text that is a kind of psychoanalytic area where the behavior of the individual, his motivation and, finally, the change of his consciousness are observed. Snatched by the authors from the stream of being characters are placed into experimental fable-event labyrinth in accordance with specific cognitive scheme, so that the image of the event, gaining a ritual meaning, altered the image of the hero, essentially turning it into a myth.
