Myth as an element of Romanticism Culture

The article deals with the transformation of the myth as a historical phenomenon of culture with a deep symbolic meaning, as a universal phenomenon, which combines the past with the future. Analyzes the concept of myth, formed in the cultural space. Provided symbolism that went beyond the artistic direction and included philosophy, religion. Mythology is considered as the spiritual foundation of Romanticism, claiming thereby to cultural universality.
The stages of development of the myth, which went from the chaotic, disharmonious to the orderly, corresponding, harmonious, as can be seen by comparing mythological images of different historical periods. Mythological characters in the era of matriarchy characterized by awkward and often ugly forms and were very far from the later of plastic harmony
