Conceptual picture of the world considered in the text depends on a subject-object structure, organized by the author’s mind. Various forms of expression of the author’s mind are analyzed, the artistic-aesthetic and structure-creative functions of an author and characters are found out, a qualitative importance of forms of relationships in the communicative system of a text author – hero – reader are defined in this article. Features of two types of novels – monologue and dialogue (polyphonic) and the role of the author in it are compared: authoritarian – the first type, and authoritative – in the second.
