On the problem of aesthetic gnoseology of literary text

Gerasymchuk V.A. On the problem of aesthetic gnoseology of literary text

The article analyzes the «chess» world of life of V. Nabokov’s hero Luzhin. The image of the chess world in the text appears as traditional vertical and horisontal lines of spirit which have an interchangeable (commutative) algorithm. This algorithm is caused by a spititual orientation of the chess image which correlates with a temporal nature of the text. Time is considered to be a forth dimension where one can move just as in space. A reference or a discourse concerning the chess slows down the dynamics of temporal development of the text and shifts the text to either horisontal or vertical modus. V. Nabokov’s text illustrates ideas of H. Bergson about the time – the ideas that the word of one’s life consists only of the past that is actively extrapolated to the present and the future.
