Famous Ukrainian writer, playwright Ivan Antonovich Kocherza turns 140 on October 6. The artist went down in history thanks to his historical dramas and plays, enriching the golden fund of Ukrainian literature and drama with the following masterpieces: "Bitter Almond Fairy", "Diamond Mill", "Candle Wedding", "Yaroslav the Wise", "Marko in Hell". "Masters of Time". The focus of his creative attention is man, his life and the search for truth.

The first attempt to write was the comedy "Bitter Almond Fairy", which can be considered a step towards creating a historical drama about the life of Ukraine. The most dramatic moments in the history of Haydamachchyna are mentioned in the work "Diamond Mill".

The real success was brought by the philosophical comedy "Masters of Time" for which, at the All-Union competition in 1933, he received an award, and the peak of his work was the poem "Yaroslav the Wise".

Ivan Kocherga's creative achievements still do not leave modern youth indifferent to Ukrainian art.
