Ukrainian philosopher-democrat, humanist and writer Grigory Savich Skovoroda (1722-1794) occupy an outstanding place in the socio-political, cultural and educational life of Ukraine in the second half of the XVIII century, the formation of advanced ideas of his time.
The world-view principles of its multifaceted creativity were determined by advanced ideas - scientific, socio-political, literary and artistic.
The struggle against serfdom, imperial landlordism, social and national oppression, religious dominance, as well as for education, spiritual development, the high honor of knowing the surrounding reality, nature in general and the nature of man in particular, were the meaning of all his restless life.
The formation of the scientific and artistic language of Gregory Skovoroda, the development of his linguistic concept, had a great influence on studying at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, where he received profound knowledge of Latin, Greek, Polish, Church Slavonic, and book Ukrainian. That is, from the walls of the Academy came true polyglot, which freely owned - spoken and wrote in many European languages. It is enough to turn around two volumes of his main works in order to ascertain how this knowledge was splashed into pages of his philosophical works, poetry, literary translations, and epistolary inheritance.
